Artdesk’s dream offices: Billie Blanket

Monday morning, Paris, rain, greyness. I pass by the Artdesk porch and they give me a big smile. Erm… I get closer, I enter a living room with large leather sofas attached to a delightful kitchen, there are long and high wooden tables. Some have lunch, others work. What is this thing actually? And why is everyone smiling? Because here we simply don’t work like elsewhere! Here we apply the Living Office method developed by Herman Miller. Here the philosophy is employee well-being. They show me around (the place is beautiful), they explain everything to me and, while I listen, I say to myself «but it’s obvious: if people are happy, they work better». QED! If Artdesk applies this new working method within its own walls (a sublime 800 m2 all-glass building) it is to better adapt it to other companies. Among their clients, among others, Facebook, L’Equipe, Direct Enérgie, Groupama who have entrusted them to redo their offices according to this concept and with a tasteful decoration (Kidimo recently joined the group and takes care of the entire decoration part). To be happy in the office there is no fixed position: you have to put your coat in the changing room, you don’t sit in the same place all day, you move. We do what we have to do in a place designated for this purpose, then we leave the room, we go to another place for a meeting, we take a ride on the exercise bike while we make a phone call, we squat on a sofa with the laptop on our laps… In short, we are in the concept of Home Sweet Home. The main thing: provide quality work, complete the mission we need to accomplish. Result? The box is a success, everyone works well and… smiles! Here is the visit, with further explanations to really understand this new concept.
