#Interview Sorana Leru: Every day we learn something new to keep up with the latest trends and materials

In January 2014, Sorana Leru and Mihaela Tampiza, both graduates of the “Ion Mincu” University of Architecture and Urban Planning in Bucharest, joined forces and founded MiSo Architects together.

MiSo Architects, as you have probably guessed, defines the first two letters of the name of the two architects who decided to liven up spaces and give them life with the help of shapes, proportions, colours, textures and the most beautiful materials to host new stories and memories.

Because we have a collaboration with MiSo Architects for a long time we asked Sorana Leru to answer some questions about their daily work and how they came to collaborate with Elegant furnishings:

What does MiSo mean and what is the history of the architecture firm?

Our story began in the winter of 2014. As university colleagues, we decided that we both wanted to open a company with an interior architecture profile and took the necessary steps. On February 12th we registered our names in the Company Register for the first time, thus venturing together on a journey full of challenges.

What do you think is the architectural style that best defines you?

MiSo style. Our personal style, which means a combination of modern and elegant. We want to create installations that transcend time and are always suited to the needs of those who use them, whether we are talking about a personal home or a commercial space. Modern style in general means keeping in mind the present, everything that is new, and including elegant architectural elements that never go out of style.

Which international architects inspire you and why?

Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe, because he is still relevant even after 100 years. Mies Van Der Rohe is considered one of the founding masters of modern architecture. Like many of his contemporaries, the German architect sought to generate an architectural style that was representative of modern times. The result of his architectural creation is one of the most influential styles of the 20th century, characterized by clarity and simplicity, using modern materials such as industrial steel and glass to define elegant yet minimalist spaces and surfaces.

How is a project, an architecture/design concept born?

We are in close contact with the customer, with his needs and preferences, which is why in each project we analyze his personality and desires to create that environment that suits him perfectly. From each project we learn something new to keep up with the latest trends and materials interior design and construction site life, how to behave with all categories of people and how to respond to everyone’s needs and expectations.

What obstacles do you encounter most often and how do you overcome them?

Working with people. But we always try to find common ground and start with a clear structure in mind from which to create the space in which the client would live best, as a reflection of their needs and expectations.

What do you like most at the end of a project?

Customer satisfaction, for sure! It is the greatest satisfaction and motivation to go further and overcome our professional limits.

Why did you choose to collaborate with Elegance Décor?

They are very serious, they respond promptly, I have never had any problems, despite having worked together for many years. They are the perfect description of what professional partners and long-term collaboration mean. Of course there are many things that would define this beautiful collaboration.

What do you think are the 3 main advantages of Elegance Décor products?

Fast delivery of products, especially to decorative profiles with whom we have created very particular projects, the wide range of products, the young and friendly team.

What projects made with Elegance Decor products come to mind?

We have collaborated on several extremely ambitious and interesting design projects. The most representative project to which I immediately associate Elegant furnishings is Duplex Whoville, a 3-room duplex residential apartment in Brașov.
