The kitchen is hailed as the heart of the home! When planning a kitchen, we should remember that this space is the ideal gathering place for family and friends. Beyond practicality, kitchens are increasingly emphasizing aesthetic design.
We co-hosted the «Pré Insight» design competition with Natalia Vieira of Studio NVwe. Entrants were required to design a kitchen incorporating 70% Casoca elements. Thank you to all the participants; we were delighted to see the stunning entries!
Therefore, we have selected some of the most outstanding works from this competition—these vibrant and exquisite designs hope to inspire you!

Conlusion
The kitchen has long been considered the heart of the home, and for good reason. It is not merely a functional area dedicated to preparing meals, but a dynamic space where daily life unfolds. Conversations begin over morning coffee, family members gather at the end of the day, and friends naturally gravitate toward the warmth of shared cooking experiences. When planning a kitchen, recognizing this social dimension is essential.
While practicality remains fundamental — efficient layouts, sufficient storage, and durable materials — modern kitchen design goes beyond pure functionality. Aesthetic considerations now play an equally important role. Colors, textures, lighting, and finishes contribute to the overall atmosphere, shaping how welcoming and comfortable the space feels. Thoughtfully chosen cabinetry, countertops, and decorative accents can transform a purely utilitarian room into a stylish focal point of the home.
The balance between form and function is what defines a successful kitchen design. Ergonomic planning ensures smooth workflow, while visual harmony creates an inviting environment. Open layouts further emphasize the kitchen’s role as a social hub, blending seamlessly with dining and living areas. This integration encourages interaction and makes hosting more natural and enjoyable.
Lighting is another key element in enhancing both usability and ambiance. Task lighting ensures efficiency during food preparation, while softer, ambient lighting sets the mood for gatherings. Similarly, selecting quality materials that are both durable and visually appealing guarantees longevity without sacrificing style.
Ultimately, a well-designed kitchen reflects the lifestyle and personality of those who use it. It becomes a place where functionality meets creativity, and everyday routines turn into meaningful shared moments. By combining practical planning with aesthetic vision, the kitchen truly fulfills its role as the vibrant, welcoming center of the home.
